Fountain Research

After first exploring the dynamism in Bernini's Fountain of Four Rivers, I began to look at the moves and gestures of just one sculpture within the fountain. The figure on the left hand side of image 1 displays a great deal motion within his very static sculptural stone body. The lines that moves through his body are very sharp, but move with fluidity. I began to explore the the line that moves from his left arm through his right leg. Using this dynamic curve, I generated a surface that expresses the character in Bernini's fountain.
