1. Import Drawing into Illustrator.

2. Start outlining the artifact. Have in mind certain criteria the become defining points/areas of importance
- you do not want to end up with a line drawing of the artifact, but rather and abstraction of it from which you can infer spatial/atmospheric notions. Based on those points/areas, you can also begin to decay the item--that is erode away the original notion to get diagram from it, always using the objects own logic and points of influence to apply an effect in certain areas.

3. Once you have the linework setup, you can begin combining/blend shaping between lines.

- Either select two lines at a time, or a series of lines
- Go to OBJECT-blend-make
- OBJECT -blend - blend options ---here you put specified distance and adjust the space between lines...hit preview to view how it will look before you commit.
-these objects now are parametrically based, you can use the DIRECT SELECTION TOOL (A) to move specific points and the set of lines follow.
